Brooklyn Heights rear addition
A rear addition tying new rooms into an existing townhouse — structure, envelope, and interiors under one builder.
The addition had to meet an older house that had already settled. Structure, flashing, and the joint at the existing rear wall were the first problems to solve, not the last.
Once the volume was closed in, mechanicals were extended and the new rooms were finished to the same standard as the original parlor. The family stayed in the front of the house for most of the build.
